三咲公民館主催の「新春！参道狛犬ものがたり～お参りがもっと楽しくなる狛犬講座～」が開催されました。
今回で３回目となるこの講座は、申込み当日で満席になるほど人気の講座です。
講師は参道狛犬ナビゲーターの山元環樹さんで、会社員の傍ら、狛犬を求めて全国を巡り歩き、狛犬の魅力を発信し続けています。
狛犬の写真を図鑑化することをライフワークにされて、昨年末には２７００体を突破！しかし、全国では８万社以上の神社があり、まだまだ道半ばのようです。
第１日目の１月１３日は、狛犬の由来や歴史、全国各地の狛犬の型や特徴について豊富な写真をもとに解説いただきました。
狛犬を作るのは彫師・石工ですが、全国の石工が競い合いながら互いに影響を及ぼし、その匠の技を磨いていった話もとても興味深いものでした。
第２日目の１月２０日は、船橋駅から日枝神社～道祖神社～厳島神社～船橋大神宮（意富比神社）の狛犬に会いに行きました。
船橋で多くの狛犬を作った石工は「金子長十良(郎)」「金子勘次郎」「金子國松」の３人ですが、船橋大神宮では長十郎、勘次郎の狛犬を対で見られます。当日は特別な計らいにより、貴重な「江戸獅子山」(狛犬の型)も見ることができました。
さて、近所の神社ではどんな狛犬に出会えるでしょう！わくわく楽しみが膨らむ講座でした。
